Project Description

The SilverLight Aviation Delta Jet 2 begins with the legendary Halley designed Apollo trike carriage built in Hungary. The Delta Jet 2 carriage is a culmination of years of light aircraft manufacturing tradition affording pilots from around the world a high performance flying experience. SilverLight Aviation completes the Delta Jet 2 with the world class power plant, components, and options listed below.

1Powered by Rotax 912ULS 100hp or 912UL 80 hp Engine
With low operating costs, leading class power:weight ratio, well known reliability, it’s no surprise that ROTAX® Aircraft Engines are the first choice of more than 200 aircraft manufacturers worldwide. The 912 series offers a time between overhauls of 2.000 hours. Fast facts: 4-cylinder, 4-stroke liquid/air-cooled engine with opposed cylinders, dry sump forced lubrication with separate oil tank, automatic adjustment by hydraulic valve tappet, 2 carburetors, mechanical fuel pump, dual electronic ignition, electric starter, propeller speed reduction unit, air intake system, exhaust system.

2MGL Avionics Xtreme EFIS and Apple iPad Mini (with ForeFlight Mobile)
The MGL XTreme EFIS is a mini-EFIS unit based on a 4.3″ sunlight readable, wide viewing angle, high resolution LCD display. It integrates an SD card reader (for software updates and for flight data recorder), 5 function buttons, a rotary control and a basic GPS navigator. When paired with the iPad mini (powered by ForeFlight Mobile) pilots have a complete navigation, flight and engine management solution.

3iFly GPS 720 paired with MGL Avionics Xtreme EFIS
The new iFly 720 builds on popular features from the iFly 700 moving map GPS. Each iFly offers a robust dedicated aviation GPS built for the harsh elements that come with flying. Terrain Highlighting, Active Alerts and Vertical Flight Planning provide the ultimate confidence and safety. Sunny days are no issue with the iFly 720. Perfect for bright open cockpits. A brighter screen and advanced screen technology allows you to enjoy flying even more.

4MGL Avionics V6 VHF Transceiver
Based on the digital technology introduced in the V10 the V6 provides the same powerful 6W transmitter and modulation system. Designed for 25Khz spacing with 8.33Khz compatible operation selectable, the dual scan receiver boasts the fastest scanning time which means no loss of reception quality during receive of the standby channel. 100 channel storage and channel operating mode compatible with the V10. Four place, dual circuit intercom system with full isolate. Each intercom microphone input has its own level control and VOGAD noise suppression system. Dual PTT inputs. Black box light recorder audio output. The intercom outputs are fully stereo with a dedicated stereo music input.

5Flightline FL-760 VHF Transceiver
The Flightline FL-760 comes with all the features a pilot needs, but without taking valuable space or using too much aircraft power. Its dimensions are 2 ¼” x 6.3” and only weighs .9 pounds. The com frequency range of the FL-760 is 118.00 to 136.975 MHz and it has a 5 watt transmitter and 11-33v power supply. Noisy conditions that are expected in an open cockpit aircraft are no match for the FL-760 voice-activated intercom and manual squelch control. Use the FL-760 display to change between frequencies with the “flip/flop” option, or you can use “scan mode” to rapidly change through 32 programmable frequencies. The screen of the FL-760 is also backlit so it’s easy to see at night, and if any emergencies arise, there is an instant button for the 121.50 emergency frequency.

6Sandia Aerospace STX 165R Mode A/C Transponder
Integrated and controlled by the MGL Avionics Xtreme EFIS through just 2 wires, the XTreme EFIS sends encoded altitude to the STX 165R, displays status, controls its mode (OFF/STBY/ON/ALT), adjusts Squawk and Idents. This unit allows you to remove the transponder from the panel and mount it closer to the antenna. Since most recreational pilots spend most of the time flying VFR and squawking 1200, or at most setting squawk once during flight, it makes sense to clean up the panel and mount the transponder away from other sensitive avionics.

7BRS 1050 Ballistic Recovery System
The BRS Canister is waterproof when the original factory seal remains intact, making it the perfect design for exterior or interior installations. With a six year repack schedule and versatile mounting hardware, it is one of the most popular systems. All BRS 6 Parachutes are ASTM compliant.

8AERO K-1750 Propeller
A great 3-blade ground adjustable composite propeller made in Ukraine and used with Rotax 912 engines in pusher configuration. Stainless steel plate protection on the leading edge lets it handle light rain and small pebbles effortlessly. This prop has a diameter of 69 inches, with quiet swooping tips. The leading edge protection is made of a steel plate flush riveted to the blade.

9Aveo Engineering PowerBurst 3-in-1 Navigation/Position/Strobe LED Lights
At only 22 millimeters in height (0.86 inch) the new PowerBurst™ is a value light that does not sacrifice anything in performance or standards as other economy-priced lights offered by the competition. Aveo’s exclusive and highly advanced optics and chrome reflector system, their unmatched power and LED management circuitry and their famous lowest-drag profile in the industry are all combined into a product that gives you unmatched POWER and FEATURES.

10AEROLEDS Microsun LED Landing Light
The Microsun LED recognition/landing light assembly is designed with 3 high power LEDs mounted behind a lens. The Microsun unit is positioned on the nose of the Delta Jet 2 for excellent illumination creating maximum landing visibility for pilots.

11The FLYCOM FH-1V Helmet
The FH-1V helmet utilizes the new and acoustically improved PELTOR H520F hearing defender (Optime II) fitted with foam and gel ear seals. Perceived noise reduction of the FLYCOM helmet and the Peltor defender is greatly improved compared to defenders of similar type used in open air headsets with cut-away type helmets of other manufacturers. There is no headband inside the helmet. All you feel is the superbly comfortable helmet on your head and the snug fitting defenders with their noise absorbing upholstery round your ears and neck keeping draughts out.
